Description

1985 HONDA NS400R

GENUINE 3,344 MILES (5,382km)

A REAL COLLECTORS BIKES

Here we have a great example of Honda’s iconic 1985 NS400R V3 two stroke triple (Freddie Spencer replica) in original factory HRC colours.
This standard unmolested Japanese, full power example has covered only 5,382 km / 3,344 miles, it has had the original tyres removed, new tyres fitted, has been cleaned, professionally serviced, dyno tested, and will be MOT’d upon sale. So it is ready to ride or would make a great addition to any 2 stroke enthusiasts collection.

Originally imported from Japan to New Zealand by an ex pat who then moved back to the UK for a short while, bringing the bike over with him, he then decided to move back to NZ for a job offer and decided to sell the bike rather than ship the bike back with him. The bike was bought (3 years ago) by the current owner and registered in the UK. As stated above, the tyres which were removed from it were the original set which ties up with the condition of the bike and low mileage of which I believe to be true. We have checked the Atac exhaust valves on it, which is where the Japanese market models are restricted and they are UK spec unrestricted / full power Atac’s that the guy from New Zealand said he had fitted. We put the bike on our dyno here and it made exactly the same power as an NS400R that we have just done a full engine rebuild on so definitely full power and no mechanical issues.

Lower fairings are not the original fairings as they had been “borrowed” by someone when the bike had been imported back in to the UK. Another set of genuine Honda lower fairings were bought for the bike and sprayed up in the correct original colours. If I was to be super critical, then I would say there is a very slight difference in the shade of the blue on the newly painted lower panels compared to the original paint, presumably as the original paint has aged slightly in the sunlight over the years, but it is the correct colour code on the lower fairing.
