GENUINE NUMBERS MATCHING UK SUPPLIED BIKE

STUNNING PRO BUILT CAFE RACER CONVERSION

850 MILES…… YES THATS RIGHT… 850 MILES FROM NEW IN 1979

& ONLY 3 OWNERS FROM NEW!!

MOT UNTIL FEB 2019

Bike can be seen and heard running in the YouTube video at the following address (copy and paste in to your browser):

I think the title says it all really. A genuine 3 owner bike which has covered only 850 miles from new. And the pictures speak a thousand words as to the quality of the build.

Bike was found in a barn by the previous owner after being in there for god knows how many years, with just 799 miles on the clock. We have photos to show this, together with photos of the build, which will can be provided on request.

Aesthetics:

WOW!! What a work of art!!

The gentleman who carried out the strip down and cafe racer rebuild on the bike was a big collector of all things automobilia and petroliana and was a master craftsman, owning his own manufacturing business, and he carried out EVERYTHING on the build himself using the tools and facilities in his business to do everything he needed, including blasting, powder coating, painting, fibreglass, electrics, and everything else inbetween. And his automobilia and petroliana passion shone through with the paint scheme, going for the “GULF” blue and orange, and it certainly makes it stand out.

The seat unit is a one-off creation by the builder, specifically designed around his choice of rear light. He used the fibreglass workshop in his business to hand craft a bespoke mould from which he then formed the fibreglass unit. The quality of the fibreglass is excellent; very well made and very solid, with lovely symmetry.

Original clocks were removed (photographed when removed to prove mileage) along with the original headlight. These were then replaced with a very nicely styled new headlight which has fitted inside it a very trick GPS speedo. The front indicators are on an LED strip wrapped round the top of each fork leg, which also have running lights in them aswell. Very subtle design. Most people dont realise they are even there until you turn the indicator on. Rear indicators are built in to the tail light which gives the rear end a very sleek look with no sticky-out indicators.

All electrics have been moved and hidden under the seat unit as you can see in one of the photos. Very neat and tidy.

Custom leather seat to finish the look.

Wheels have been rebuilt with new rims so they look fantastic and very bright. Front wheel has been swapped out for a slightly larger Honda wheel which has the drum brake on which the builder thought looked more aesthetically pleasing, and I’d have to agree.

To really finish the look off, a new K2TEC exhaust system (over £1,000) and new rear shocks were also added.

You may be thinking the number plate is rather on the large size. This has not been changed for a smaller more aesthetically pleasing sized plate simply due to the plate on the bike at the moment being the original number plate from the dealer in Grimsby when it was first purchased, so left on for historical purposes.

Mechanical:

Engine has been stripped, cleaned up, and rebuilt by the gentleman who pulled it from the barn due to the bike sitting unused for so many many years. We did actually sell this bike at the start of 2018 but unfortunately due a misunderstanding with the new owner about the 2-stroke oil to use, the pistons nipped up. So we have stripped the engine completely and had it professionally rebuilt including a brand new crank and bearings, rebored cylinders, and brand new pistons to suit. Motor is currently being pit back together and will all be completed and back in the bike by mid June hence us putting the bike up for sale now.

We have had the bike to a few shows while we have owned it (it won the Wakefield American & Classic Car & Bike Show April 2017) and started it up on several occasions for people, and given it the odd little ride at the shows.

The bike comes with V5, keys, and MOT certificate valid until 19th February 2019.

CURRENT, AND FUTURE, SHOW WINNER FOR SURE !!

Come and have a look and see it for yourself. I’m sure you will be impressed. The kettle is always on at our showroom.
